In our Life Groups we usually discuss the Bible message from the previous Sunday.  In the context of Christian community, we seek to apply God's Word to our lives, so that together we can grow in our faith and be equipped to share Christ with others.

Please take time this week to read the main Scripture passage and think about the following questions.  Write your answers down in a journal if you like.  Come to Life Group ready to share what God is teaching you, and ready to learn from others.

    Bring your New City Catechism Devotional (book or phone app) to Life Group. Read this week’s question and the accompanying devotional material. Discuss briefly, then pray.

Community Bible Reading / Personal Sharing

  • 毎日神様との時間を過ごしていますか？もし、困難を覚えているなら、どのように他の人から励ましを受けたり、祈りを受けたりすることが出来ますか？
    Have you been spending time with God in His word each day? How has that time been for you? If you have been struggling, how can we encourage you or pray for you?

  • この1週間の聖書通読と神様との時間を通しての体験を分かち合いましょう。学んだこと、神様からの励まし、神様をするように心が動かされたこと、告白して 悔い改めた罪、など。（全ての人がシェアしなくても大丈夫です。）
    Share what you experienced during your time with God in His Word in the past week — something you learned, how God encouraged you, a time when your heart was moved to praise, a sin you confessed and repented of, etc. (It’s okay if everyone does not share.)

  • この1週間、あなたの人生について簡単なアップデートをしてください。 どのようにしてキリストの弟子として生きてきましたか？ どこで苦労していますか？ どのようにあなたの時間を過ごしましたか？ 神はあなたをどのように祝福されましたか？ 目的は、愛を持っての互いのアカウンタビリティーと励ましです。 正直に分かち合って、お互のためにに祈ってください。
    Give a brief update on your life this past week. How have you been living as a disciple of Christ? Where are you struggling? How have you spent your time? How has God blessed you? The goal is loving accountability and encouragement. Please share honestly, then pray for one another.

Read the sermon text, and then discuss the following questions:

  • 神様はどういうお方ですか？神様の具体的なご性質を探しましょう：聖い、永遠、全能、全知、常に共にいてくださる、変わらない、思いやりのある、恵深い、忍耐強い、愛に満ちた、優しい、良い、柔和、など。例え話など、話の中では、神様のご性質をほのめかしていること箇所を探しましょう。父親として、御子として、聖霊としての神様のご性質をどのように表していますか？

    WHO IS GOD? Look for specific references to his attributes: holy, eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing, ever present, unchanging, compassionate, gracious, patient, loving, kind, good, gentle, etc. In narrative portions, look for implied references to his attributes. What does this text reveal about the character and nature of God as Father, Son, and Holt Spirit?

  • 神様は何を成してくださいましたか？神様の働きについて、聖書箇所は何を語っていますか？人間の歴史の中においての神様の働きは様々で、壮大です。しかし、イエス様がどういうお方でどういう働きを成されたかは、聖書全体を通して、表されています。イエス様が教会を建てると約束してくださったのです。イエス様が聖書の中のヒーローで、主人公なのです。

    WHAT HAS HE DONE? What does the text say about the work of God? God’s work throughout all of human history is diverse and magnificent. However, the person and work of Jesus is revealed on every page of the Bible (Luke 24:27). Jesus is the one who promised to build his Church. He is the hero and the main character.

  • 上の質問の答えから観ると、私たちは、誰なのでしょうか？私たちのアイデンティティーについて何と書いてありますか？神様は、「神のものとされた民」を救うために働いてくださっています。（１ペテロ２：９）この箇所から、神の民についての真実に目を留めてみましょう。

    WHO ARE WE IN LIGHT OF THAT? What does the text say about our identity? God has always been working to save “a people for his own possession.” (1 Peter 2:9) From this text, note the things that are true of God’s people.

  • では、私たちの生き方をどのように変えるべきでしょうか？正しい動機に基づいて、神様がどういうお方で何を成してくださったか、神様のご性質と働きに照らして自分が誰なのかを理解することによって、福音中心の行動が自然に流れ出ます。
    では、行動に出ましょう！イエス様は私たちがただ単に御言葉を聞くだけで行わない者にならないよう警告しています。（マタイ７：２４−２７）あなたは、どのように応答しますか？信仰を持って従うための次のステップはなんだと思いますか？

    HOW DO WE LIVE? In light of all of this, how does it change the way we live? Rightly motivated, gospel-centered action flows out of an understanding of who God is, what he’s done, and who we are in light of God’s character and work. The gospel motivates and empowers us to live in an entirely new way.

    So then, let’s take action! Jesus warns against being merely a hearer of his word but not a doer (Mt. 7:24-27). How will you respond? What step of faith and obedience will you take?

互いに励まし合いましょう / Encourage One Another:

  • あなたが誰かにキリストを伝えるために、神はどのような機会を与えてくださいましたか？
    What opportunities has God provided to lead others closer toward knowing Christ? 

  • あなたがキリストのもとに導きたいと思っている人に対して、神はどのように働きかけられておられますか？
    How have you seen God working in the lives of those you want to lead to Christ?

互いのために祈りましょう / Pray for One Another:

  • あなたがキリストのもとに導きたいと思っている人のうち、少なくとも１人の名前を分かち合いましょう。その人がもう一歩キリストに近づくことができるように、あなたが次にしようと思っていることがはっきりしていれば、それを分かち合いましょう（例：教会に誘う、夕食に招待してあなたの証を分かち合う、ファースト・ステップの学びを一緒にする、聖書またはクリスチャン書籍をプレゼントするなど）。
    Share at least one name of someone you want to win to Christ. If you know, share your next action step in leading them closer to knowing Christ (for example: invite them to church, take them out to dinner and share your testimony, study First Steps together, give them a Bible or Christian resources, etc.). 

  • 互いのために日々祈るようにしましょう。（１）大胆さと知恵が与えられるように。（２）良い機会が与えられるように。（３）相手の心が開かれるように。
    Commit to praying for one another every day: (1) For boldness and wisdom, (2) for opportunities, (3) for other’s open hearts.
